We’re back for the third and final day of the 2026 NFL Draft, finishing up the process with Rounds 4-7 on Saturday.
The biggest player to watch today is Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy, who is (comparatively) high at the top of the Yahoo Sports consensus big board. McCoy, once a surefire first-rounder, has slid to the third day of the draft due to injury concerns.
McCoy suffered an ACL injury in January 2025 that kept him out all last season. But, Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson reports, that’s not really the reason that teams are worried about him: McCoy has a “bone plug” in the same knee that was inserted to address a cartilage issue, which may need to be replaced in the future. That replacement, if not successful, would possibly end McCoy’s career.
All of this adds up to a highly talented player who appears to be too risky for most teams. So even though McCoy is 16th on Yahoo’s board, he is set to slide to the fourth round, or even later.
Beyond McCoy, other players who are likely to go early on Saturday include LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier (No. 34 on the big board), Miami cornerback Keionte Scott (No. 45) and Penn State edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton (No. 46).

The first two days of the NFL Draft are officially in the books after Fernando Mendoza was taken first overall, as expected. That leaves four rounds left for Saturday.

Kayden McDonald got his moment. It was just delayed a night.
McDonald, a huge defensive tackle for Ohio State, was in the green room for the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh on Thursday night. He was not picked in the first round. ESPN reported that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spoke with McDonald after the first round and talked him into returning on Friday night. When his name was called, it was a heck of a moment.
McDonald started crying when he got the call that the Houston Texans had taken him with the 36th pick, got to celebrate a bit with his family, put on his Texans hat on the way to the stage, then had a long hug and more tears when he hugged NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on stage.
Goodell is not always on stage for picks after the first round. The ESPN story said Goodell told McDonald he wanted to give him a hug on stage after he was picked.
